Vietnamese Sizzling Turmeric Crepe - Dennis Ngo (Di an Di)
Chef Dennis Ngo, a Texas native, opened Greenpoint hot spot Di an Di in 2018. Since then, he's been serving up contemporary Vietnamese fare to a hungry audience -- and earning industry raves. After Covid shuttered Di an Di's doors in March, Dennis and his team launched two new concepts: Di Di, a delivery model offering daily specials (think vegan bahn mi and Viet-Cajun crawfish boils) and Di Cho, a new provisions market opening soon.Â
đ„WHAT'S COOKINGÂ
In this class you'll learn to make one of Dennis' favorite dishes: Banh Xeo. This crispy, savory stuffed pancake - banh meaning "cake" and xeo meaning "sizzle" (for the noise it makes when the batter hits the hot skillet) - is popular all over Vietnam.  You'll cook, plate and garnish your Banh Xeo alongside Dennis in real time, get feedback on your dish and have all your questions answered.Â
